CHANDRAMOHAN’S PEN DRIVE

The unit continues to run without problems. It is a month now since GT got tripped and STG is about 8 days behind after the shutdown for condenser leak. We hope it continues to run like this for some more time. Our SE Kumaraguru will become CE any day now as he is on the hot list and the april retirements will create the vacancy needed. He is expected to become our own CE and that is a good thing. The only worry is who will replace him here. I hope he is not someone like Ramakrishnan or ramalingam. I hope he is like rajendran or the present incumbent. Even sunder, sundaramoorthy and dhandapani were ok. Only the first two were bad. Anyway, fortunately none of the bosses have come close to us in control and instrumentation as the subject is greek to them. We are generally left to ourselves and we of course mind our business without much complaints or problems.
The other day AEE MRT Chandramohan asked me for AVG antivirus 7.5 free for his home PC as it seemed to be infected. I gave him the software in our pen drive. He tried it in his house and said it wouldn’t load in his house. I asked him to come to our lab and showed that it loaded normally in our pc by uninstalling the already installed avg and reinstalling it. Then he asked me to scan his pen drive with the software. I was in for a rude shock as the avg kept finding worms, Trojans, etc etc continuously and after scanning for about 30 minutes the scanning wasn’t over and it was already 224 infections and continuing. I can’t imagine how someone can be so naïve and let all these infections damage all files. And he is supposed to be an expert in computers.
